Our Standards

How we verify information.

When you're already exhausted, the last thing you need is a dead phone line or a form for a program that ran out of money last year. Every resource we list has to earn its place.

Last Verified: July 2026

Every resource must pass these standards:

  • Official source

The information comes directly from a government agency, licensed nonprofit, hospital, or credentialed provider.

  • Current information

Program details, eligibility rules, and application steps reflect the most recent published guidance.

  • Active funding

The program is actively accepting applicants and has funding available at the time of verification.

  • Working phone number

A real person answers, or the automated system routes to help within a reasonable wait.

  • Working website

Every link loads, forms submit, and applications can be completed end-to-end.

  • Reviewed by our research team

Two team members independently confirm the resource before it is published.

  • Date verified

Every listing carries a visible verification date so you always know when it was last checked.

If a resource stops meeting these standards, it comes down. No exceptions.

Spot something out of date? Email support@whenworkstops.org and we'll re-verify within one business day.
